Content Management Case Study - Playforce

The Problem

Playforce are a leading provider of children's playground equipment in the UK. As one of the major providers of playground equipment, their website needed to portray their position in the market. We worked with them to redesign the website and improve the Playforce brand. The other part of the web design brief we received was to develop a way of allowing the Playforce staff to update the website easily and quickly. As new products and articles needed are added to the website regularly, the content management system needed to be usable by 'non technical' staff.

The Solution

After understanding who the users of the website were meant to be we decided to implement our easy to use Dub3 content management system. The Dub3 CMS allows for pages to be added to the website without the need of a web design company. It also allows for content and pages to be restructured at any point, allowing the website to grow as necessary.

One of the most used features of the CMS is the news module. This allows news to be automatically updated across the website at the touch of a button. The news listing also generates an RSS feed, which means that clients interested in Playforce can sign receive new news items instantly.

The results

The use of our system has allowed content on the website to be kept up-to-date and interesting for users. In addition it has expanded the content on the website so that new areas of expertise can be demonstrated and information becomes more interesting for website visitors. This in turn demonstrates Playforce's expertise and so improves their brand.

Project Timescale

Before starting the web design and CMS project, we put strict time guidelines in place so that the website could be launched prior to the start of the new school year. This meant that our team of web designers and web developers had to work extra hard to get the website designed, built and tested on these dates. As expected though, we met the deadlines and the website launched without a problem.
