BMW blacklisted by Google
In one of the most high-profile cases of website spamming, Google recently took the main BMW website out of its index for being too 'spammed'. The website which used excessive JavaScript, which is hard for search engines bots to read, relied on 'doorway' pages (web pages filled with excessive keyword text) to attract visitors to the site.
The case which comes on the back of some high profile actions from Google, including restricting its results to cater for the Chinese market, shows that any site can fall foul of ethical search engine promotion rules.
